Under Construction
This doesn’t go anywhere yet. Saving for future use.

Every book has a secret history. It’s the journey of an author's soul, stretching from that first exhilarating spark of an idea to the moment the final, satisfying words, "The End," are typed. It takes more than just hard work—it takes dedication, perseverance, and sometimes, a little bit of fate. This is the extraordinary, almost unbelievable story of how my novel, Save Them, came to be.
The Mother of All Ideas 💡
It was July 2023 when I confessed a lifelong dream to my then 80-year-old mother: I wanted to write a novel. Her response was immediate and surprising. “You should write about Antarctica,” she declared. “Nobody writes about Antarctica.”
She had a point. And just like that, a switch was flipped. Within hours, the plot began to form in my mind, not just as a casual idea, but with an icy, compelling urgency. A feeling—a certainty—took hold: You are going to write this book.
I dove into three months of intensive research on the coldest, most mysterious continent on Earth. Then, in October 2023, the first two pages finally materialized. The adventure had begun.
A Sign from the Universe (or Just Good COBRA) ✨
Like many aspiring authors, I juggled my dream with a full-time job. I remember a fleeting, desperate thought: If I got laid off and kept my health insurance through COBRA, I could finally devote myself to the book.
Within two months, that seemingly impossible scenario unfolded: I was laid off, and yes, I was able to keep my health insurance.
It was more than a coincidence. It felt like a sign. It confirmed that the desire to finish this novel wasn't just mine; I was getting help because Save Them needed to be published. I didn't know the exact "why" yet, but I knew I had an imperative. Writing Save Them suddenly became my full-time job.
The Shocking Discovery That Changed Everything 💥
I was about halfway through writing, confident in the story’s trajectory, when I stumbled upon a bombshell news story. Online, I read about Russia’s reported discovery of 500 billion gallons of oil in the pristine Weddell Sea off Antarctica's coast.
This wasn't just a fact; it was a call to action. The world needed to know.
This explosive revelation ripped through my initial plot, forcing extensive edits and significant plot changes. Suddenly, I had my reason. My fictional tale now carried a very real, urgent warning. It was my way to bring this critical environmental issue to a wider audience.
If you’re as stunned as I was by this discovery, you can read more about the geopolitical response here:

The Adventure Continues 🚀
Less than two years after my mother gave me that initial, brilliant spark, Save Them was self-published in May 2025.
The journey, however, is far from over. The fight to protect this planet and the inhabitants that call it home, continues in the planned sequel, Save Us, scheduled for release in 2026.
